Our Primary provision consists of Years 3 to 6. Pupils are taught in a maximum class size of 12 and are supported by a class teacher and teaching assistant. We teach the full primary national curriculum to pupils to pupils in Years 3 to 6.
One-to-one Teaching
From Years 3 to 8, every pupil receives a daily 30-minute one-to-one lesson with a specialist teacher. These sessions are timetabled so the whole class attends at the same time, ensuring no pupil misses other lessons or feels singled out.
Our specialist teachers hold qualifications in dyslexia and have experience supporting pupils with autism, ADHD, and developmental language disorder. Many are AMBDA/APC accredited and trained in assistive technology and communication needs.
Each lesson is tailored to the pupil鈥檚 individual needs and interests, using a mix of visual, hands-on, and spoken activities. Sessions may include phonics, reading, spelling, maths, handwriting, typing, emotional regulation, or exam preparation. Teachers adapt lessons daily to support both academic and emotional needs.
Pupils are assessed using formal tools and informal observations, with termly Individual Education Plans (IEPs) developed in collaboration with colleagues and therapists. These plans guide teaching and are shared with families.
Most pupils stay with the same teacher for two years, building trust and consistency. Weekly meetings with SENCOs and senior staff ensure joined-up support across the school.
